in "the lottery", the setting is all pleasant, but the author (forgot the name) gives an example of foreshadowing when the story starts to revolve around a character (also forgot the name) and the tone starts to become all gloomy... so you know some thing will happen to this particular character, and in the end the character gets killed

In the movie Bonnie and Clyde the bandits steal a car from a man and then end up befriending him and his girlfriend and joyriding around with them. Their fun comes to a screeching halt when the man tells them that he works as an undertaker. His occupation foreshadows the inevitable death of Bonnie and Clyde.

In Romeo and Juliet, several times the two youths mention their longing to die. Once, Juliet even mention that Romeo appears pale, as if he is in a tomb. These instances foreshadow the deaths of the lovers.

Author said that from the beginning of the story...it is pertaining with a piece of plastic wrapper...as the protagonist doing all kind of impulsive actions(and we know how he will behave basically),
when he is in contact with the plastic wrapper...showing us what he had in his mouth the nextday morning...

For instance if there was a knight in your story, he received a sword and didn't know what it was for. He held onto it just in case something were to happen.
