how do you calculate volume from mass and density and density from volume and mass?

those are three different units, volume is SPACE,mass is ...WHAT occupy that space,and density is HOW MUCH of that mass is in that space so mass is measured in cubic units: cubic feet, cubic inches, cubic meters, etc. mass is measured in weight units: pounds, kilos, grams, tons, and density is measured in amount of mass in that volume: pounds/cubit feet, grams/ cubic centimeter, kilos/ cubic meter etc... so you just see the units and you know if you have density, volume or mass

OK, so density is usually expressed as weight per unit volume. Therefore, see what units the denisty you want to express is in, convert all the volumes an mass into the appropriate units. Then divide the volume by the mass. So a object with 10l volume, and wieghs 20kg will have a density of 2kg per litre.

volume=divide mass by density

mass=multiply volume by density
