I always use eBay's "completed items" for this. Search for your item, then tick "completed items" down the left hand side. If you're not signed in already, it'll ask you to sign in.

The results you see are those that have already finished. If the amount is in red it means it failed to sell. The results in green are those that have sold.

Also, if you take it to a specialist and say you want to sell it they will give you a quote for how much they would give for it. You don't have to sell it to them, so that's free too. Of course, always bear in mind that they'll sell it on for more. For collectibles, especially things like this that are light and easily shipped, eBay is the best source these days as it reaches a market around the world.

If it's the common U.S. 3c stamp showing George Washington, it's worth about a cent, unfortunately. Those were printed by the billion! If it'ssomething other than the 3c Washington, I would need a description, but most stamps from 1932 are interesting but worth very little. The doctor's bill might be worth more as it is a piece of social history.
