Hi!
As a Homeopath, I would go with SoulDoctor's advice. Calendula tincture is the most effective herb when faced with an open wound. As a matter of fact, before you apply Calendula, make sure nothing is left inside the wound as it starts closing up almost instantly.

You could also use Echinacea if it's all you have around, it's a natural antibiotic and a good desinfectant. But in my opinion, Calendula tops them all. It's not expensive and very good to have around for the treatment of all open wounds.

There's a great all around salve called St John's Wort Salve. However, there's more in it than just St John's wort. It contains st johns wort, plantain, comfrey leaf, calendula, and (often) lavender essential oil.

Like others have said, calendula is great for closing up wounds quickly. However, these other ingredients make it useful for a wider range of problems. For example, this salve can relieve pain as well as bug bite itching. A good all-around 1st aid kit item. To echo Marie, it's best to clean out wounds first, as the calendula can trap particles in the wound by healing it so quickly.

What are transfer factors and

how do they work?

Transfer Factor XF™ is a safe substance that has been used in multiple applications, including skin care. Transfer factors are the primary communications mechanism used by your immune system to defend your body against harmful microbial threats. Transfer factors are small molecules that consist of specific sequences of amino acids. These small compounds naturally occur in all mammals and are passed on from mother to newborn through the mother's first milk called colostrum. These small transfer factor molecules then start to educate the newborn's naive immune system, which in turn helps protect them from the microbial threats they encounter all their life.

Transfer factors have three primary functions. When we encounter a potential microbial threat, transfer factors: 1) recognize and alert our immune system to the "threat" 2) condition our immune system to respond quickly to "threats" 3) remember the threats we encounter to quickly respond in the future

Yeast polysaccharides.

Yeast polysaccharides are key in activating the immune system's natural defense mechanisms. They also provide excellent support for macrophages, some of the most important "soldiers" of the immune system. Yeast polysaccharides are also crucial components of the cell renewing process of the skin, helping your skin to look younger and healthier every day.

Aloe Vera.

Aloe vera has been used for centuries to help repair the skin barrier from invaders and provide soothing relief. Recently, scientists have begun to validate this ancient wisdom with studies that prove aloe vera's effectiveness for the skin. Lavender, Chamomile, and Rosemary
