He may not be. Sometimes these things are announced to influence contract talks one way or the other. My feeling is that it has not been resolved yet, and won't be until contract talks are over.

Jay is going into retirement and do the things that he cannot do, since he often works 5 days a week (year-round)
He has a beautiful wife, enjoys classic cars (and motorcycles) and has lots of connections in the community.
I dare say he will continue to enjoy life without the rigors of his current job.

He is leaving because he is not funny anymore. After he leaves he plans to go to Comedian College otherwise known as Clown College. He plans to be half as funny as Dave Chappelle's dog.
