i know someone who works on the pleasure beach who's had this argument before.
The people who run the rides have a standard height chart [ anyone below this height cannot ride ].
They have to work out roughly, the height weight ratio according to the weight of the apparatus they are going to ride.
Some people who weigh heavy may get to ride, if there is a number of lightweight people already on. All depends of the weights of the people waiting. Hope this helps x

I think roller coaster seats are designed for the average to just over average-sized person. If someone knows they are not average to just over average-sized, there is really no point in trying to get on the coaster.
I used to be a large-sized person. I remember juuust being able to fit in a roller coaster once. Talk about being embarrassed. But, that experience, plus alot more "too big" experiences, helped me to come to the realization that I needed to make a change about my eating habits. It took me over four years, but I lost 104 lbs using a good weight loss plan combined with regular exercise.
My feeling is that, rather than expect companies to change their tables, chairs, booths, coasters, whatever to fit ME, I needed to change myself to fit THEM. Otherwise, I would have just been using energy (to get the companies to change), instead of using my energy to improve myself in alot of positive ways. To me, putting my energy towards bettering myself has been by far the best choice I could have made.
Even though losing weight, particularly a great deal of weight, is very, very difficult, choosing to remain very overweight is a choice. I don't believe any company should be forced to accommodate that choice. A typical roller coaster seat can fit someone who weighs up to around 230 lbs or so. I don't think the company who designs a roller coaster should be required to build a coaster to fit someone who is any larger than that.

I think in general it sucks. Although, I was with some friends at an amusement park, one girl I didn't like too much was the only one willing to go on the new coaster with me, so after waiting a couple hours in line when we finally got up there, they couldn't fit the harness over her and lock it in place so they told her she couldn't ride.
OMG soooooooooo funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its pretty sad, large people are been made the scapegoat in all areas, its like they are outcasts and not allowed to have fun just because they are big, no wonder half of them lack confidence and hate themselves, their money is just as good as ours and who are we to judge anyone, we all have problems or hangups about things in our life and large people are been made to suffer.
