If you liked that they made a prologue to it a year later it's called "The Diary Of Ellen Rimbauger" which tells the story leading up to "Rose Red".

It is Rose Red. This movie is named after the haunted house it takes place in. It is a decent thriller type of horror movie.

I think you mean Rose madder. the story is about a woman escaping an abusive cop husband.
