My Husband and my Father-in-law are going to the football game next weekend. I need to find an activity for my MIL and I to do together... Any ideas?

Is it too early to start Christmas or holiday baking and freeze the results? This could be a great bonding experience. Or,ask her to bring some family photos and you could both start a scrapbook if you know anything about it. Does she knit, crochet, cross stitch, needlepoint, etc? Maybe she can teach you? Go shopping together for the Holidays and finish up at a salon with a pedicure. Add lunch and a chic flick movie to the day and its a perfect girls day out. Do either of you golf or bowl and can teach the other? Whatever you decide, good on you for wanting to spend time with her. She's a lucky,Mom-in-law!

That depends on her likes/dislikes.

You know her better than we do - what is something she likes to do? Is she someone who goes out and does stuff or is she more of a person that stays in?

My mom couldln't be on her feet for a long time so we did things where she could sit a good part of the time. That left out stuff like shopping, major tourist spots, etc

My suggestion would be to use something she is comfortable doing. If she likes to shop, do that. Stop for a bite to eat afterwards. If she's more of a home person, take her somewhere that has a "homey" feeling to it, like visit some friends (hers if possible) for the afternoon. If she'd rather not go out, another idea would be to rent a couple of movies and watch them together.

If you want to spend a bit of money, I think mothers-in-law always love spa treatments. Maybe do a manicure and pedicure together, and you will have your own little celebration and bonding while the guys watch football.

Your MIL is one of three persons who knows your husband's history before you met him. She would just LOVE to tell you embaressing stories about him.

By the time the boys are back from the game, you two should be laughing loudly, then suddenly stopping just as they enter the door.

Go shopping, or to a movie, or if she likes to be active go bicycling or walking...What does SHE like or what is she able to do? Have a tea party and invite a friend and HER mother (if she's older). If not, just have a get together with a bunch of friends who are varied in age.........

It really just depends on her personality. My daughter got wild and took hers to see the Chippendale's they laugh and got crazy. She wasn't the type but she loved it.
