I thought liberals were tolerant and compassionate as well as being for all people regardless of race, education, orientation and economic levels?

Don't confuse liberal and tolerant. Liberals are tolerant of every opinion as long as it matches their own.

I see a LOT more namecalling and insults from the conservatives here than I do from the liberals. That's not to say the liberals don't do their share of it. I've been called a commie, a commie lib, a Dumbocrat, a Demoncrat, a lying liberal, a feminazi, all kinds of things. I don't call people names if I can help it. Yet when I express an opinion, it's like grade school all over again. I only wish for enlightened debate, not useless namecalling and the like. However, I think I came to the wrong place for that.

Like petulant children liberals are tolerent as long as things go their way. That is why blacks that are not dems get called Uncle Tom and Oreo etc. The most intolerent racist people I have ever met are all Democrats. Then they project their shortcomings on conservatives to throw off the brainless masses.
