Yes, clog removers work wonders. Get the extra strength Drano (it comes in a red bottle). Good Luck!

The S trap idea noted above is a good one too, but the lazy man's way is to dump Drano down the drain and wait a few hours...

Yes, the clog removers really work. Get something like draino or liquid plumber. These products contain enzymes that basically "eat" all of the stuff clogging your drain. Hair, bacteria, food particles and other stuff will all be eaten up. Just run hot water in the sink for a minute, turn it off, pour the clog remover in, and let it do it's thing for roughly half an hour. After this is done, run hot water through the sink again. You should notice a difference at this point.

your plumbing may be routed wrong or i should say installed wrong? If it has always been slow chances are they got the "p" trap lower than the drain line. this is a comon problem that those high dollar plumbers make and it always causes problems. the best and most efficent way to unclog a sink is to run the water hose into the sink, put it down the drain and tamp a dish cloth around the water hose to prevent water from squirting out , have someone go outside and turn on the water full force. make sure they stay by the facet to turn it off if you need them to. this will usually work better than anything. If it does not work you will have to take out the plumbing lines and clean them. By using the water hose you are putting about 65 psi prerssure on the clog which is more than you're going to get by using a snake

There is a foaming drain cleaner that is by liquid plumber called Foaming Pipe Snake. I have used it on slow drains before and found it helpful where the thin liquid ones designed for clogged drains really didn't help much.

Wait until its drained then undo the p-trap and check for clogs. If none there, then run a snake through the open line.

Draino may work, but your best bet is to just remove the "s" trap under the sink. Put a bucket under it, take it out and clean it. that's where the problem is, and it's an easy fix.

If it's not clogged to bad, liquid draino will be fine, otherwise you have to use a snake.
