You could try a magnet, or something metal and thin, like a saw blade. Carefully put it in next to the key and when you pull it back out, the key should come with it. Needle nose pliars if you can grab any part of it.

DO NOT USE GLUE, YOU WILL RUIN THE LOCK....evidentally the one lady never heard about supergluing someone's lock for revenge. Replacing the door knob is cheaper than calling a locksmith. All you need is a phillip's head screw driver. You may be able to remove the lock and tap it on a flat surface and get the broken key out.

Take the lock apart, remove the cylinder, push out the key from the other side with an unbent paper clip. Reassemble the lock.

I've lubed them up and removed pieces of broken key with a dentists pick. There are several shapes. Ask your dentist to save you some old ones. They work great for a lot of different tasks.

my husband said, the remaining part of the key you are holding, put the strongest glue on it and stick it on the broken part inside the door lock, let it still for 30 minutes and pull it.

otherwise, if you get a chance to get inside by unlocking yourself through the window, your best bet is to replace the whole lock by removing all the screws inside. go to hardware store and its cheaper if you do it by yourself.

good luck...
