for the past several weeks i have been burping constantly. well not exactly constantly, but A LOT. just so you know, i do not drink any carbonated beverages, mostly water. i dont eat large meals and i am not overweight, actually i am a bit underweight. i have also had chest pain during the past several weeks. not sharp pain but more like pressure pain. occasionally i will lose my medicine in the toilet too when i have a bowel movement and this usually happens when i have bloating and gas, but this has been going on a lot longer like over a year but has only happened a handful of times. my nurse friend says it sounds like i have a malabsorption problem sometimes and that the constant belching sounds like gallbladder problems. but i thought gallbladder pain was supposed to be in the right side and she said the belching is an early sign and the pain will come later. so is this true?

Yes fatty food will bring on a gallbladder attack. I lost mine from over dieting, I was eating all fat free foods. Weird.

It could be. When my gallbladder went it was a sudden thing. I was fine, we had diner and then all of a sudden I was in so much pain. I was throwing up constantly and my stomach hurt on the upper left side. I thought I was dying it hurt so bad. My hubby took me to the hospital and they did a sonogram and sure enough my gallbladder was full of stones so they gave me pain meds and set me up for surgery in the morning. I had to stay 1 mopre night after the surgery. I have two little scars on my tummy now. I say go get a sonogram done and check it out.

If you are under any type of stress, this can cause chest pains. Chest pains are also caused by heartburn; it may be heartburn if your chest feels better after burping. You could also have irritable bowel syndrome.
Go to www.webmd.com, they have a section where you can put in your symptoms and it helps you figure out what's going on. Sounds like you need to make a doctor appointment.

I would see your doctor asap. It is probably not serious, but your symptoms can mean several health issues. Why be in pain any longer than you have to . There may be a simple solution. The longer you wait the more dangerous the situation may become. Good luck

Try to eat oily sunny side uo egg. If you feel like throwing up minutes after, then you might be having gall stone problems. That's how they tested me in the hospital.
Nothing's better than a check up of course. See a doctor as soon as possible. This is for your peace of mind and to avoid more speculations as this.
In matters pertaining your personal health, take immediate action. Relying on this forum wouldn't do good!!!

I feel your pain, literally, I am in so much pain right now, I feel like i am going to die. I posted a question early asking what is wrong with me. I have done some further research, and perhaps I am suffering from gallstones. Go to Webmd.com Hopefully that will help
Good Luck!

Your nurse friend sounds like she might be on to something. If you had an obstruction of the biliary system by gallstones it may lead to jaundice and pain. I think your best bet is go to the Dr. one year is way too long to be fooling around with your health.

why guess ? please contact a gastroentrologist doctor to get the tests done to confirm the problem. These days removal of the gallbladder is a very simple operation without cut opening. they do Laproscopic operation[send the tools through Navel, light and computer probes through small holes and do the operation watching on computer screen,,they just cut and remove the gallbladder. I got it done simply.
