Exactly how do you get a familar/fetch to come to you? I've heard from many people that there's a ritual but I'm not completly sure. I don't have time to go to the library and I haven't told my parents yet (I don't feel comfortable around them knowing yet). Any information from you guys would be excellent, just no rude people please. This is the way I want to go in my life and no one can change my mind.

Plus, do you have to be able to see ghosts or whatever they look like and will my family be able to see them?

You cannot call a fetch.A familiar is not the same as a fetch.You do not choose your familiar, they choose you.Make the time to go to a library.You need to do some serious research.I am all for you wanting to choose Paganism in your path in life, but you need to make the time to learn about it.You will find most of us have very little patience for fluffy bunnies, or people who want to use Paganism as an excuse to get attention.

Exactly how? There isn't any 'exactly' when you're dealing with such things. Most people who have familiars, cats, birds, snakes,etc, buy them.
If you want to have a familiar come to you, there isn't a ritual per say. You have to 'put it out there' to the Universe by picturing what sort of animal you want, then see what comes about. You can help the process out by burning two white candles and one pink with some frankincense incense while contemplating your goal.
To add some power to your desire, get a picture of the kind of familiar you want, either a photograph or a drawing and keep it near your candles or on your dresser. Give this some time! It may take as long as a couple months. The Universe will deliver in its own time, not yours. Be patient.
Regarding your ghost query: ghosts don't need to be seen. Some are present in non-visual means. This includes odd/unusual temperature changes, voices where none should be, sensations across skin or hair, and movements of various items that normally don't move without physical assistance.

you do not just go out and get a "familiar". In my experiences I have found that they have a tendency to find YOU. I had never used a familiar in anything i had done for many years. Then out of nowhere a stray kitten found her way to my door and made the most horrible of sounds until i finally heard her and open the door. She shut up and walked right in as though she owned the place. I was preparing for a small ritual at the time that i planned to do. she walked right into the middle of everything, explored each item and then made herself a part of the circle i had cast. I found it almost funny,but i continued and had very much success with her being with me. She was in my home less than an hour and proved herself almost instantly her value. 3 years later, she still involves herself every time, and i am certain she is a part of my success at what i wish to do. If you are truelly drawn to a wiccan or pagan lifestyle, take/find the time to go to the library and learn about what it is to be wiccan/ pagan. You don't just wake up one morning and say " ok , I am wiccan now " As with all things, you must learn it, practice it, live it, honor it, in order to truelly "be" it. You should take it slow and there are many things you should learn before jumping ahead of the game. Some things you cant rush, others you just should not rush. I wish you well in your search. You don't really "GET" a familiar. You can invite one into your life though. You would go to your sacred place and meditate. Ask the Goddess & God to be with you and then invite a familiar into your life for guidance and companionship. Thank the Goddess & God and the universe for listening to you. Then wait. You may have a stray animal show up on your doorstep - or you may happen to stumble across the perfect kitten or puppy somewhere. But don't discount non-domesticated animals. You may find that you have a bird that hangs around your house suddenly, or a mouse that takes up residance, or even a new spider that you see regularly - -these can all be familiars. Just connect with the animal and ask if they are there because of your request.
Don't be surprised if your familiar moves on suddenly either. Its not like in the movies where they stick around forever. They are there to give guidance and wisdom. :) Blessings!

You cannot buy a familiar. You can seek one, though. There are several different rituals out there, however, it's not necessary. Meditate on the topic for a while - why do you want a familiar? what can you offer in exchange? Cast your circle, as always. When you call upon your chosen god/dess, respectfully request a little help in bringing a familiar to you. He/she may come later rather then sooner, so don't despair. You'll know when it arrives, what it is.

Simply befriend the appropriate animal/creature. There is no "ritual" as such.
See, REAL magic like you are looking for, does not and can not exist within the confines of "civilised" society. If you truly want to befriend an animal for the purposes of it becoming your familiar, you'll need to go off and live in the forests, or the mountains for a few years. Trust me, I have.
Training it, ONCE you have befriended it is another matter. That all boils down to what you want from it.
Also, be prepared for many xtians who will ignore the fact you asked them nicely to keep their opinions to themselves - most of them know not what the words humility and respect mean.

Don't go looking for Familiar, It will come to you on its own be open and remember it might not be what you expect Just put it out to the universe and it will come. And don't pay any attention to the rude people

A familiar usually chooses you, not the other way round. I don't have one, but that isn't to say I wont have one in the future. When an animal chooses you, I think you will know.

when you are ready they it will come to you, it may look like a lost animal but it will stay with you. people think they own animals, but they are just waiting for the right person to come along. good luck
