This is mostly about Sims 2..but maybe some of you can help anyway.

So I've downloaded a couple of lots and more sims from the website...and SimPe. So then my game started to act crazy, so I deleted SimPe and played Sims again.... And it won't load it my family! I'm worried, should I delete ALL my downloads and redownload?

I'm trying to think of a safe way but I don't what to do! Please help I don't want to lose my simmies.

This has happened to me a few times when I downloaded a lot that had a problem with it (not compatible with mine) or if I had extra hacks that conflicted with the NEW stuff.

One way to troubleshoot is to log off of windows and log on as a guest. Play the sims. If there are no problems with the NEW install of the game as a guest, then your game is fine. You do not have to reinstall.

Log back onto your regular account and open your download folder. Save a copy of the folder in another place that is not part of Sims 2 (like on the desktop) for a BACKUP. Open your real download folder that is in the and delete stuff in your downloads that have the date of when your problems started.

After you have deleted everything from that date then start up your game again. It should run clean and all your families should be fine (except for any new familes that depend on the bad buggy stuff). They will run without bugs now.

Sorry. You should probably uninstall everything and reinstall just the game. Your additional downloads probably have programming that overlap each other and create gameplay anomalies (man, I've been waiting to use that word for a long-*** time; haha). Anyway, you should probably get rid of it and reinstall. Sorry.

Here's the good news though. Once you restart, just create a new family. Then when you're in neighborhood view, press CTRL+Shift+C. This will bring up a tiny little window at the top of the screen. Then type "familyfunds " and press Enter. Then you can give 'em however much cash you want. (Example: familyfunds Smith 2500) That means the Smith family would receive 2,500 bucks...or, Simoleons...whatever they're called. Sorry about your game malfunction though. That sucks.
