Because sexual predators have a high recidivism rate. Therapy doesn't usually "cure" them. Jail is the best option.

Many legal statutes have a required range of punishments, i.e. a minimum and maximum severity of punishment.
It is possible that the the therapy requested by the victim was not an option for the judge, despite her request.
I suppose it is also possible that the judge considered the victim to be 'on the side' of the rapist, which would make her opinion suspect. For example if the girl was consenting, but underage, it would still be 'rape', but the female involved might not realize the man deserves to be punished for taking advantage of a minor.

The judge may have determined that the person cannot be helped with rehab, or just decided he didn't merit it for one offense.
The judge is the final determiner of a sentence. The victim usually has little or no say in what the sentence is, which is the way it should be. Say the person who attacked her was muslim, and because of the she felt he should get the death penalty because she hates muslims. That's not fair at all. So the judge has to weigh all of the facts, not the wishes of people.

Do you mean she asked the judge to do that instead of jail, or while he was in jail? There would be a big difference. If she asked for that instead of jail, the judge probably thought he didn't want to expose other people to the risks this guy presents, so sent him to jail anyway. Good call, since treatment is usually useless for those who commit sex crimes.

Do you really think that will change any thing? No matter how much rehab I would never believe in a god or religion. So what makes you think that you can make a person think it is not ok to rape a woman if he thinks it is ok?
No need to spend any more money on someone like that then what we have to. I would rather spend the money on teaching someone a trade so they can get a job and help pay for my retirement ...

most judges dont feel there is any way to prove a "cure" for sex offenders, because it is a natural basic human function for a person to want sex....the only way to "cure" one of sex offenses would be casturation/removal of sexual tools. And U.S. isnt going to go to that extreme because its barbaric.
(just my opinon on this question)

He probably realized it was hopeless and just upped his time spent in jail. At least he'll learn what rape feels like there.

There are a lot of people who don't view sex addiction as a legitimate addiction. Maybe that's why?
