Bush is one of the Contenders. Nixon is close too. And unlike Cheney says, you can love America and be against the War in Iraq. According to the news today, the War in Iraq is now a rallying cry for Jihadists. Also, just because someone opposes someone's policies and actions doen't make them un-intelligent. Everyone has their right to their own points of views.

No. If people would just take a look at what he has had to work with you would understand. How many presidents can you name that after they were in office for just nine months during their first term had to deal with an attack on their country and a complete shut down of the financial sector. To go with that, a complete shut down of all air traffic across the country locking down the boarders. Then over the years you get to add in the major nature disasters: hurricanes, fires, earth quakes and floods and also try to rebuild an economy. The question you have to ask is: How would you make out if you had the same job with all of that. Oh and let us not forget to send relief to other countries that suffered some big blows too. If anything the media and liberals need to get off the President's back and shake his hand for a job well done.

I think the key phrase is "any democratic nation" since there aren't a lot of countries that fall into that category if you stop to think about it. Its possible there may have been others elsewhere who have effed things up for their country as much as Bush has here, but there can't be that many. If Bush isn't the worst of all-time world-wide, he definitely has to rank in the top 3. There can't be too many leaders of a democracy throughout history who have almost single-handedly through totally idiotic decisions brought their country to its knees like Bush has this country.

your chance to complain about Bush comes up in just over 2 years. Until then, learn how the 'trias politica' system works and quit trying to blame a single person for all of what you perceive to be problems.
You probably haven't paid any attention to how much money the Bush Administration has spent on AIDS research or Environmental Conservation.
Harvard doesn't just give out degrees, no matter how much money your family has - neither does Yale.
Gerry Ford played Center for UMich and was, by all accounts, a very graceful person for his size. Yet, he slipped on one of those little (wet) aluminum stairways that they used to roll up to airplanes and, ever since, has been portrayed as a total spazz.
What makes you think that the media isn't distorting Bush the same way? He doesn't 'go off script' very well - neither does the cast of Saturday Night Live. It's not a crime.

People are entitiled to there opinion, but to actually know how well or poorly Bush did and to see the after effects, you'll have to wait a few decades. By then people will have a better idea of the presidency because they can see the reprocussions and get a better idea of the situation. At the current moment, we don't know the full story due to the classification of documents and all of the extremely biased sources we get our information from.

No, I don't think so. The fact that he was even re-elected after his term says it all, even if he would become even more unpopular now. He has too much power on his hands to be seen as the worst leader. People need leaders, either good or bad, that's a fact of human nature.

to clw13:
yeah, the WE the people didn't even vote for him. Now way an entire nation can be that stupid and elect him for a second term.
This must have been bought just like the first one, there is no question in my mind.
To the original question here:
There have been worse, but he will definately be in the top 10 list.

Just realize that when a President enters office, he has to deal with all the past decisions of other Presidents, the economy, which was decided way before he ever started implementing any policies, and decisions made by Congress.
He has less power than we think.
And you guys honestly believe that if we had John Kerry, Al Gore, or somebody else in office during these years, that we would not be in Iraq? You think this country would be better?
Think again.

Yes, yes, YES!!!!!!!! It's because of his political divisiveness, irritating the international community with his problem-plagued, ill-advised policies, incompetency, bad decision-making, starting the illegal war in Iraq over lies of WMD's that has killed about 3,000 soldiers, and recent reports of his bad behavior in office! So far, Bush IS THE WORST president in recent memory! And I hope he gets impeached out of office before long!
