I have no tie to the Giants nor the Pirates, but I must say that over the years Barry Bonds has put up monster numbers. This season he has 26 home runs with only 357 at-bats! So if he is able to put up this kind of number at the age of 42, why couldn't he do that 5 years ago when he belted 73. See my point! Even before all the bulkanization of his body, Bonds was hitting 30-40+ homers each season. He also has walked more than any player in history. Can you imagine how many more homers he would have had if he didn't walk 2425 times? So he might have used something...he still has to hit the ball. Just because one bulks up doesn't mean one's coordination gets better. Just because one heals faster doesn't mean one will hit long balls on a regular basis. Even before all this steroid talk, Bonds had Hall of Fame numbers. It's too bad the media and many fans don't see the other side to his career numbers all because of one word: STEROIDS. In my book, Bonds is going to be a first ballot HOF

I think you're missing the point. You said it yourself "So he might have used something..." Doesn't it matter to you that he cheated? Cheating is cheating is cheating? Baseball and it's fans cannot allow this to happen. Baseball itself has danced around this issue for too long. Why is Greg Anderson doing jail time for Bonds's steroid use? Why are those two journalists being jailed for telling the truth about Bonds? Bond's belongs in jail, not in baseball's hall of fame.

Bonds should (and will) be in the Hall of Fame. Look at his number at the end of 1998, before he (probably) started taking steroids. He was 34, and already had over 400 HR and 400 stolen bases. He also was the third player to get 40 HR and 40 steals the same year, and that was in 1996. He also won multiple MVP awards and Gold Gloves before 1998 as well. So yes, he should (and will) be in the Hall of Fame.

It is unfortunate that players like Mark McGwire and Barry Bonds will have their busts enshrined in Cooperstown. Both have the numbers and credentials to be in the HOF. To me, it is no different than the old time pitchers famous for doctoring the ball while on the mound. Gaylord Perry was famous for throwing spit balls in order to gain an age on the field. All we have to go on is the numbers, without irrefutable evidence that says each are guilty, we can only focus on the numbers and away from the stigma attached to being a cheater.

If he retired in 96' earlier ever taking a unmarried drop of the cream and the clean, he changed into probable already a first pollhall of Famer. you could hate on him all you want, I do it too, yet you could not deny that he changed into/is between the most gifted gamers to ever take the field. With that being suggested, it really is uncertain at this aspect how the voters will cope with his steroid use (I skipped over allegedly on purpose). We already said what they did with McGwire, they'd attempt to make a aspect with Bonds to boot. i'd say that there's a minimum of a 50% danger that sufficient voters go away him off of their ballots for him to attend a minimum of a three hundred and sixty 5 days after his first poll.

I think Barry Bonds deserve to go to the HOF, and for those people who say he's a cheater and that he should get a asterisk on his homerun records, are clearly jealous of him. Honestly think about it, if he was on your favorite team would you hate him? Would you say he doesnt deserve to be in the HOF, no you wouldn't. And if you're saying that your feelings wouldnt be any different than it is right now, you're lying. I completley agree with the stat about him being 42 years old and is still putting up those numbers. He already has the homerun record for most homeruns in the NL, and anytime soon he'll have the most homeruns in the MLB.

Bonds wouldn't have those kind of numbers if he didn't do steroids. Yeah he would be a great player without them, but he wouldn't have hit as many home runs. If you see all his home runs in a montage or something, he is really skinny when he starts, but at one point he gets really big and strong very quickly and starts hitting them more often. If he does make it to the hall of fame then he should have an asterisk by his name saying steroids were in use. Only fair.

he's a first ballot hall of famer easy. that would be like making micheal jordan wait. he goes in simply because he is the most feared hitter of all time. when you walk a man that much rather than pitch to him that says a lot. steroids make you faster and stronger. they dont improve your reflexes or timing. jose canseco, ken caminiti and rapheal palmeiro all too steroids. and palmeiro is the only one of those guys with over 500 hrs. canseco and caminiti were often always injured because their bodies were so eaten up by the drug damage they broke down. bonds is over 40 years old and had most of those injuries late in his career.

Bonds will be and should be a first balloteer.

He holds records that, like you said, have nothing to do with steroids. (Walks, most 30/30 seasons, etc.)

However, the juice does help him hit more homeruns because it gives him more power and explosion. He's too good, whether or not he did the juice (which there is STILL no absolute substantial evidence to prove he did) to not be in the hall of fame.

The ONLY stat that should have an "asterisk" next to his name is his HR record and if he breaks the career record.

He has HOF numbers but even Stevie Wonder can see that he is/was on something. He never hit more than 50 HRs then he hit 73. It smells like something smelly/fishy/funky/stinky to me.

Why should he go to the hall of fame. He is a cheater. He hit almost all of his homeruns using steroids. He dosen't deserve it plus he sucks at fielding. Like they say. "Babe Ruth did it with hot dogs and beer, barry Bonds did with steroids"
