combine like terms.
example: y=4x+3y-2+4-1x+2y would simplify to y=3x+5y+2 because you combine the x's, y's, and regular numbers.

you figure out what number can be divided into the top and bottom both

9/15=3/5 because 3 can be divided into 9 three times and 15 five times and 3/3=1 and anything divided by 1 is itself


4/10=2/5 both divisible by 2 (2 x 2= 4 and 2 x 5=10)
