It is clear they don't otherwise they would have at least signed the Kioto Treaty. It is the responsibility of the US to think about the environment knowing its leading position in using up natural resources and polluting in return. The Government only thinks about protecting its own industry against negative economic influence from other countries. Saving and protecting the environment is a no-go area on the political agenda. China is second best and will be a worse player in a few years time.

It shows that our government leaders and car makers aren't as concerned about global warming and breaking the hold the Arab oil cartel has on this country. They should be showing more interest in alternate fuels, and making smaller cars, and saving our planet. But then too a lot of wealthy folks in this country think bigger is better and still buy them. So as long as everybody makes money on gas guzzlers the car makers will still make and sell them. Personally I would like to buy a highbred or eletric car if they were made more affordable.
