They made a huge profit on hummers by cutting back on armor, at the cost of our troops' lives. I think our troops deserve more and better support than that.

Awww because they dont really care they pretend too.What they care about protecting is those oil fields.

It's not that armor was cut back, humvees were never designed for the additional weight of armor and have struggled with the problem up-armoring has caused. Additional fuel use, additional maintenance, more breakdowns, the vehicals aren't airconditioned so driving with the windows up overheats the troops. During Desert Storm none of the humvees were armored and it wasn't considered a problem, it wasn't untill roadside bombing became so prevalent that the military had to play catch-up and retrofit all their vehicles.

Get your facts straight before you start running off at the mouth. Hummers were designed long before the army began dealing with IED's. As soon as we began dealing with them they began reinforcing the Hummers. You can't retrofit thousands of vehicles overnight, it takes some time.

Because that would cost more money - it was acutally a bad business decision by conservatives - they forget if the customers die - there is no money to be made.
