I am in my final year of High School, and naturally, it is time to start applying to Colleges.

I have an idea of where I want to go, but right now, I am VERY confused. The Common Application, the Teacher Recommendations, Supplement forms, etc.

My problem is, I don't know where to begin (besides choosing a College, I mean).

So, can anyone offer any help? Also, I'd really like to know more about the Common Application. Do I print out a copy of it to each college I sent it to, by mail? Do I have to give a teacher forms for every college I'm applying to?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try carefully reading and following each college's application instructions. We can't really provide general instructions that are applicable across the board.

Hi there. Remember that you will attend one college. First and foremost is the cost, location, and fields of study the college offers.Basically, request an application from at least 3 colleges. You can do this via the Internet by putting the name of the college in your search and follow their instructions. It's that easy. You will need official transcripts sent to them. Your high school usually will do this for you on 1 or2 colleges for free. Official transcripts usually are forwarded to the colleges of your choice without you handling them. I guess they don't want anyone to tamper with the grades. Our experience was recent and that easy. The teacher's forms were not even involved.I realize that these days, high school counselors are of little help. After you request applications from the universities of your choice, they are very good at sending you the application and easy instructions required. Good luck on your SAT's and try to review. There are a lot of books out there for this. We used SAT's For Dummies. The school system these days haven't prepared you for anything. I think you will be fine and thanks for staying in school.
