Hi there
I've been shaving my legs, arms and underarms for years (I'm 53) and on the odd occasions when I've gone a few days without because I've been busy (or just feeling lazy!) I've not noticed that the hair is any thicker. Plus it always seems to grow at pretty much the same rate.
I think the reason people think shaving makes hair thicker is because you get stubble, which feels thicker than the tapered ends you get with natural re-growth after waxing.
The only thing I don't shave is my upper lip, I use a depilatory cream on that because I don't want stubble on my face.
Hope this helps.

Yes it will grow thicker for a while but eventually you'll notice that your hair is thinning. But smooth looks good.

It's a myth... You can do a quick search and find tons of explanations like that:

It LOOKS and FEELS coarser, but it's not.
The same goes for guys btw

They say this but when you think about it... how can a razor make other hair folicle grow and produce hair? i do think that over time your hair will thicken... mine did. I hate shaving!!

Dunno abt body hair, but facial hair yes. and the successive batches ( I believe you are talking about prolonged use) are harder, thicker, denser.
