being rude is the sign of the times, respectful debate is a thing of the past, if we used a few of the golden rules we might be able to get more accomplished in this country. Left and right might agree to disagree instead of feeling the need to call names and assume that what ones stand on certain issues makes them a right wing or left wing zealot. Allot of it is maturity and how they were raised. I'm older and I was raised to respect the opinions of others even if I don't agree, they have the same right to their beliefs as me and beating each other up verbally only firmly entrenches those opposite beliefs. No one has ever changed my mind by calling me names , but show me some intellectually honest facts and research on an issue and I have change my opinion on many things.

That would be your normal Neocon Republican answer on this site. Stick around for a while and you will figure out about the multiple profile Neocon propagandist that runs a 24/hour program on the political pages with insults as the only answers given.

Sadly, politics is the one subject that stirs up more passion that anything else. That is why people are rude and I'm sorry to be rude if I have been.

Good question. Anonymity makes it possible to say things that one wouldn't think of saying face to face. Manners and etiquette, chivalry are dead. More's the pity.
