I would personally wait a year, the wood will burn cleaner with less creosote, if the wood is too green all it will do is smolder and make alot of smoke and no heat!

Most suppliers in Texas cut the wood and let it set for the next year. The wood they are cutting now will be used for next year. That gives the wood plenty of time to "cure" and ready to burn.
