Is general adult fiction or general fiction mean that the agent/publisher takes all genres, when it's not specified? I'm just curious.

The difference is that General Adult Fiction is not aimed at teens or kids. It has less to do with sexual or violent content then the interests of different age groups. This means General Fiction is a wider scope and encompasses more.

Some fiction such as Harry Potter is aimed more at youth, but is enjoyed by a far greater audience.

A good indicator is the age of your subjects.

General Adult Fiction is the term that encompasses all fiction aimed at adults. It is the heading above headings such as romance, horror, thriller, mystery, et cetera. Any fiction novel for adults is considered general adult fiction.
