A company I used to work for 7 months ago is still using my name on their phone system & is still telling customers I'm responsible for works I have no dealings with. Could someone give me some sound legal advice on how to get them to stop using my name/repretation falsely? I've wrote them letters & left phone messages for someone to call me about this matter so it can be resolved, but they refuse.

You need a solicitor to write a letter to your previous employers. They are obviously not listening to you. The solicitors would write a letter simply stating that they should stop using your name or they would take legal action. That would scare them into action.

get a lawyer who deals with work related ethics and situations.

i don't know what exactly that would be but they'd listen to a lawyer.

intellectual properties are being violated here...

and don't worry about expense.. the lawyer will take a payment plan.

look up for lawyer online and in the yellow pages..

if you still don't know what kind of legal authority that can help you... call any lawyer who works with legal issues in the work place that should be obtainable.

start now.

this is the only way now since they're not taking you seriously.

you could even be reimbursed if not just get those recordings and materials that have your name, image and voice on them. it's your materials now.. they shouldn't be using them that's against the law(s) that are now active for people in the work place and in advertising, customer relations.

it's not as scarey as it sounds to get a lawyer... you'll be happy you did it.

in your case it's probably a simple phone call and the employer to retain the materials and destroy them or give them to your representative lawyer to destroy or for you to keep.

that's intellectual property also (if i know my stuff that is) they can't use it without your permission and without you being a current affiliate if not employee of that company.

good luck, sorry i wasn't of any complete assistance.

File a petition in your local superior court requesting an injunction whereby the company must stop using your info. If you sustain any economic loss as a result of the company's use of your info then you would have a shot at a slander or libel suit.

in easy terms a practise, you may edit your call to enable readers be attentive to that could be a Canadian criminal question. In my state, Texas, u . s ., it would be criminal. Texas is seen a appealing-to-paintings state. till your mom is contractually locked into working for her employer for a definite quantity of time, i do no longer see how the employer may well be doing something any further incorrect than you switching from a extra costly telephone enterprise to a low cost telephone enterprise.
