Why is being proud of being white seen as being racist? Other races can exclaim their racial pride?

All cultures, at one time or another in history, have exploited others. Why is even mentioning being white seen as something not to be mentioned?

Because the other races have been through a lot more racism because of their race and feel that they are owed the right to conteract this by claiming pride of their culture even though they are showing their extreme insecurity about their race.

White pride is pretty controversial, in the sense that many believe it implies racism, and the fact that the term has also been adopted by white supremacist organizations.

The reason people believe that Black Pride or Gay Pride are okay, and White Pride is not, is that the former are examples of building solidarity and self-worth on the part of oppressed groups of people, and the latter is seen as reinforcing the origins of that oppression.

It's accepted for differrent cultures within a racial group to have a pride day, as in Irish Pride or Czech Pride. But often White Pride excludes some groups, such as Jews and homosexuals, even if they are white.

Because white pride has been wrongly portrayed since the beggining of society. *Royals were more beautifull if they were super white, blonde and blue eyed, they would go to crazy lenghts to go one shade whiter like bleaching with chemicals and using white powder on their arms to make their veins look blue and have 'blue-blood'. *The lovely KKK. This people were ovbiously proud of being white, that's no crime, the crime was what they were doing to the other races. *The Aryan Nation. Adolf Hitler wanted to create the perfect race, blonde, white and blue eyed, but he was fince with people just being white. He was killin' too. *The minority of white pride who became famous/recognized were pridefull man who could not tolerate differet colored people, that is just a branch of white pride that went crazy for some decades and although it still exists it's not legal anymore. *The whole society sees white people as prettier, sophysticated, and all that pretty stuff. A black woman can never be called 'the prettiest one' because always before her will come a white woman, no matter how attractive(or not) she is. Color is what matters. Society is stupidly obssesed with this. *Meztizo Latin America vs Argentina: You were wondering about hispanics, well this is one of the causes of them hating white people. It's pretty stupid if you ask me, but as an Argie I have to live with this everyday in the internet. 97% of the Argentinian population is white, while the 3% left is made of other south americans whit a citicenship(the most), mestizo and American indian people. Argentina's european ascendence is creating a huge racist problem. We're being hated for being white, we're being made fun of because we're white, then we'll hate you cause you're black/mestizo and make fun of you cause you're fun mestizo. It's stupid, but happens. Although it only happens when both parts feel that the other part is being racist, so if there are no white/black/mezstizo coments, then this won't happen. Overall, if you consider this a tl;dr response, I can sume it up into fewer words. "White pride is wrongly seen because the common white pride we see on tv or history channel came from a few extremist whites that made their ideology a cult. So the rest of the world put all people with white pride into the same bag" I completly agree with white pride, it's as legal as black pride and people should stop thinking about Adolf Hitler everytime they see a white person, not everyone hates blacks, having white pride does not mean you are racist or hate other races, you are pridefull to be white, that's all.

Honestly? Because other races want to apprear as being "superior" to us. In America, us whites have always been in charge and other countries have always been jealous of us! It's a known fact no matter who gets mad or feels badly about my comment. America has always been number 1, and with that is associated as the white population. Some will be offended, and that right there is what I'm saying, the others feel offended because they know this as well. We're supposed to honor Cinco de mayo and all of that, even Black History Month, but we're not supposed to honor our own race? If we had White History Month, they'd all say it was raciest then! It's all a double standard. Our governmanet sets it up this way to make these people "think" they have some power, head games basically. The whites know who wear the pants in this country though-think about it. Oh, here goes the real raciest comments, because I told the facts! Let's sit back now and watch the ignorance roll right on in...........People know this but just doesn't want to hear it, sure comments will follow..................ha, ha............I'm not saying other races shouldn't be able to celebrate, but hey-we should be able to as well without being called racist. but all the dummies out there will get this wrong anyway.

Every race should be proud of their heritage. All have skeletons but all have made good contributions to the world at large too. Pride in your race only becomes being racist when you espouse your race as being in some way superior to another.

It's the way that white pride people express this. And radical racial groups, like the white pride twins in Montana, are seen wearing racist t-shirts depicting Hitler as thier hero.
I mean, what kind of pride are you talking about? and what is "white culture"? There is none, "whites" are mixes of different cutures, Irish, Gernan, French... these all have different cutures. African-americans have thier own cuture, as do chinese, Korean, Mexican, ect.
the ONLY true white cuture is creole. It's a mix of french, African, and native american language, supersittions, religion...
In short, Whites have no reason to proclaim pride in their culture, because they don't have a specific culture.
So be proud of your heritage, if you are Irish-German... Celebrate it. (or any other "white" cuture)

Mentioning being white is all very well. But pride in being white...I'm sorry, but that sounds to me like racism. I mean, why would you be proud to be white if you didn't think it was superior to other skin colors? It seems to me that the very definition of pride makes that racist. Of course, this applies equally to all skin colors. People who are proud to be black, for example, are equally racist.

It isn't! You can be proud of what you are. You are not racist if you stand up and yell, "I'm white. Horray for me!" But, you would be if you were saying it in front of Black people, etc. You just have to be proud of who you are, but not too proud. If that makes sense. Well, hope this helped you out somewhat.

Be proud of who you are.....being proud does not mean you think you're better or superior to anybody else. When you do that then you're a racist. This goes for any race.

But being white is like being a white undershirt....since most of them are white it doesn't get much notice. LOL
