If at all possible, DO NOT get a guinea pig at a pet store like Petco. Let me tell you why.
First of all, the pet stores are so uneducated about guinea pig care it literally makes me want to vomit. Because of their ignorance, my rescue gets flooded with guinea pigs.
Guinea pigs at pet stores are shipped in cardboard boxes from a wholesale "breeder." They are typically infected with eye infections, upper respiratory infections, and parasites. 50% of the females are pregnant because the pet stores will tell you that guinea pigs are "not interested in sex until they are six months old." Guinea pigs are sexually mature and willing at 3 WEEKS old for males and 5 weeks old for females. So if you buy from a pet store, you will likely end up at the vet within the first few weeks. There are also higher chances of inbreeding.
There are SO MANY Guinea Pig rescue with homeless piggies that need forever love. www.petfinder.com is loaded with sites , just search for guinea pigs in your area. Depending on the rescue, the pigs are handled every day, they are vet checked and healthy, and the people can tell you what their personality is like. That is how it is at my rescue at least.
www.guinealynx.com and www.cavyspirit.com are also great resources and another way to locate pigs. Both sites are major opponents of pet store pigs. I will say I have rescued a fair share of pet store pigs because they were near the brink of death and the Employees were completely oblivious. I have even called our local Animal Control (the pound) on a Meijer for mistreatment of guinea pigs in my area. I keep a close eye on all the stores in my area so at least people here won't be duped.
I always remain available to my adopters for ongoing questions and my rescue can be located on www.wheeksandsqueaks.petfinder.com should you have more questions that I can answer more completely.
Best of luck.

You can get them at Petco but I would suggest from a breeder. Often breeders sell for cheaper (with some pets....cheaper by hundreds of dollars) and a good breeder (show quality) will give you tips and tricks. This way you know you wont be getting a pig with any defects that you dont know about such as teeth growing fast or mental defects.

Yes you can can one at petco, petsmart, or other petstores that carry small animals. But you have to be 18+ to get one from petco or petsmart. I hope this helps.

Go to Petco.com of course. Petco sells small animals but you sound young. You would have to have your parents buy if you are under 18.
