Well, crude oil sells anyways, so the main effect would be that selling it in US dollars will strengthen that currency. Many middle east started to quote and sell their oil in Euros, so that strengthen the Euro. If US controls it and sells it un US dollars, there will now be more demand for US dollars in order to buy the oil. With more demand, price goes up. In this case exchange rates will go in favor of the american currency.

The value of our currency will go up since there are more demands for USD. On top of that, politically, it will place us in a higher level to speak, direct, and control.
