Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but bats are certainly cute and worthy of respect. My cat found a baby one five years ago and was so worried about it; he nosed it to me and I had to learn how to care for it; feed it; keep it warm and give it flying lessons. It was the cutest little thing ever! I took it everywhere with me, it was inside my tank top, clinging on happily. He loved it when I took him for bike rides - I think that motion and speed thing really helped him learn to fly.
Now I have a bat box on my house wall and help any bat in any way I can. The baby I reared and successfully released back into the wild taught me some bat sounds so I try to communicate with the bats and once in a while they will investigate me. I think they are really cool!

You mean the animal aka the flying fox? They can be at times depending why they are doing. I like to see the perched upside down. It is nice to see them comming and going at night and in the morning. I do not like to see them eating.
I think all parts of nature living and unliving have beauty, an animal, a bug, a plant, a mountain, the ocean, a puddle and a rock. Some people may not appreciate this, but some people do.
I also find beauty in art and some man made things. It just depends on how it is looked at. Some crystals look very orderly and man made. It just depends.
Did you hear the story of stella luna? She is a cute little bat in a childrens book. They even make a stuffed animal of her. I had one, but my dog really liked her too and loved her to death. Read that book it is really cute.
For halloween this year they came out with some rubber bats that look so real they really creap me out. They look just like some flying foxes I saw up close in Australia. I kept looking at them in the store and they looked so real even up close.

They are lovely. To see a flock of bats take off from the trees, their leathery wings batting, is a sight of incredible power. They are dakr silhouettes in the night. Not everything has to be fluffy and cute to be beautiful.
Apart from the obvious benefits of their droppings and their environmental benefits, a bat is also beautiful because it is unique. A bird with live young, and that feeds its young milk, is an incredible animal. It has the most incredible warm, velvety skin, and that adds to its `beauty'
And a baby bat is downright cute!

yes and they eat a lot of insects. However they are also vectors for some nasty diseases. In the south they can be carrying not only rabies but Lyme disease. The giant flying fox fruit bats of southeast Asia and Australia seem to be vectors for Nipa virus, an especially nasty infection transmitted to both humans and pigs (livestock near humans) In the north they sometimes have rabies ( I think from eating Mosquitos with tainted blood in them )
So yes beautiful as they are you should watch them and admire them from a distance. I believe in building bat boxes for them because they eat so many bugs like mosquitos and moths that are destructive to crops.

Yes! Many species are quite cute! There are a few that are a little scary looking as well, so can understand why people are afraid of them and why they are SO misunderstood! They are actually quite important creatures...they rid the planet of nasty blood sucking insects (such as mosquitos) making it less necessary to spray a bunch or harmful toxic chemicals, and in some parts of the world they are responsible for the pollination of lots of fruits such as bananas, avocados, mangos, etc.

Most people don't think so, but often further study of a creature reveals its different complexities. In their design and make-up then they could be considered beautiful. Beauty is of course also very subjective, to some they are doubtless beautiful but to others they are menacing creatures of the night!! raaaa

I used to date a bat, and while she was no oil painting she more than made up for it in personality, not to mention in the bedroom.
