lap top on battery?

if battery run all way down will i loose data from computer

Usually laptop has feature to auto shutdown when the battery power reach too low.
But if you really let it run down all the way, then anything you didn't save, you will lose them. It is kind of like you turn off the power without shutdown windows, unlikely something will get corrupted but it is always possible.
