a friend of mine found herself in odd situation when her guy friend complimented the way she eats & i was wandering if guys are really picky on how a girl would eat??

I read an article one time about this, and they said that girls that have healthy appetites are generally more sensual. So if a guy has a problem with girls that eat, he is shooting himself in the foot!

I think most men would like to date ladies with good eating appetite so that the dinner would be more cheerful.
When come to food, I'm absolutely free to order what I want to eat and those guys I had dinners with were happy to see my good appetite. They usually let me pick which restaurant to go or what cuisine we should have, so before the diner I've already got what I would order in my mind and I'm a gourmet, they liked my suggestions.

I grew up with all brothers and have a ton of guy friends. From what I have been told, a guy would rather take a girl to dinner and have her order a burger and fries and be normal rather than order a small salad with dressing on the side and push the lettuce around on her plate a la Nicole Richie. Most guys want to date a "real" girl with a "real" appetite, not some girl whose diet consists of rabbit food! Be yourself for God's sake! If you like to eat, then eat! Obviously this guy your friend went out with dated some total idiot girls. She should take what he said as a compliment...she is normal!!!

As a total foodie, I eat whatever I like. I'm not embarrassed to order full meals. I know I can always take home leftovers. A Salad Date is a First Date (unfortunately) where if he's paying you think he'll expect something more after the meal. Go whole hog, and go Dutch. I love trying out new foods, or things I've been craving for a while.
The guy must like your friend for other reasons aside from her having to eat a salad. Sometimes you've just snacked before dinner!

Guys (real men) hate taking out a girl for dinner and she orders a small salad for example. This is not an odd situation, it's a normal situation that we (real men) talk about all the time. If we have taken you out to dinner then order something that's a real dinner and not just a side dish. Whether it's a dinner salad or a good steak, or fish, it doesn't matter, just as long as it's not a side dish. If you're not hungry then don't go out for dinner, wait til later or don't fill up earlier when you know that you're going out later.

I think some guys are put off by girls who don't eat because they see them as "high maintenance." Just be yourself. If you're normally a big eater, go for it. He'll probably love it because most guys enjoy good food and would love having someone to enjoy it with. Whether we like it or not food and eating are a huge part of any culture.

If I was a guy and I just paid good money for my date's dinner and she didn't eat it I would be a little upset. I think the size of the appetite doesn't matter. It is the table manners that do.

Most guys don't care, as long as the girl is herself...only most of the time the girl will eat different just cause she's around him, maybe she'll be more polite, or eat less, or healthier...if she was really being herself he wouldn't think nothing of the way she eats, cause that would be the was she was

Most men like a woman with a healthy appetite. They like to see us eat, especially if it's at a nice restaurant. They feel like they're not wasting their $$$. Most men do not like a woman that eats like a bird.
