Can't believe the sarcastic answers you are getting ,just from asking a civil queastion. I run a website for the paranormal( not on yahoo).I did some investigating on the subject a while back. There seem to be two different schools of though concerning the question of vampirism. The first is the classic Dracula type. Has to drink only blood, no food, can't go out in the daylight, can only procreate by turning others, lives for many centuries. Can't cross water,no mirror reflection, can shapeshift into bats, wolves, sleep in coffins, etc. The second way of thinkng,is more intriguing.According to these beliefs ,one can be born a vampire. These born vampires are also able to turn others. Both the born and made can go around in the daylight, eat normal food as well as drink blood, and cast reflections. They also live for centuries, and do not have to sleep in coffins. There are many variations on the two themes.I am still investigating for my site, but I hope this helps a little.

I do believe you just answered your own question? If something is not real and you are just curious... I suppose some figment of your imagination COULD give birth... but... It is quite unlikely. You would however, have to re write the entire vampire beginnings and character rules. Like Anne rice did as opposed to Bram Stoker.
Vampirisim was a metaphor that was used from ancient Sumeria to modern day. Back then, before there were actually medical treatments for blood diseases, transfusions, etc... People were accused of all sorts of crazy sh*it just for being sick.
It was a name that was made popular by Bram Stoker (being that he was raised around an insane asylum equipped with a cemetary that he used to play in as a child.) His imigination was a bit Jeffrey Dahmer-ish. WHat do you expect... a little history come from Vlad the impailer and a little macabre lonley sexually fruestrated boy... Draclua is born as an alter ego to empower a strange little man.
From his stories and books... No Vampires of a fictional nature cannot give birth as death cannot breed life as a rule.
Vampire was also a moniker given to the Jews. Because people believed that they were evil. In german it is known as Nosferatu.
Even in the movie, it was documented and observed that the character had very "Jewish" features. Or what they considered jewish in the demonization of Jews during that time.
Vampirisim however... is a modern condition that can be attributed to living people. It is a metaphysical term used for the kinds of people who drain life energy called Prana. Either delibrately or unknowingly. SO I suppose the live kind of emotional vampires can indeed give birth to little life suckers of their own. Ever been around the kind of person who just exhausts you mentally and emotionally? These are modern vampires...

that relies upon upon what author you study. Darren Shan's vampires are sterile. Arra Sails, seen one among a handful of female vampires in his comments, suggested that their barrenness has even if to do with their blood. yet another furnish claims that they are technically useless, so reproduction is unbelievable. What about as punishment for stealing a possession of a vampire, resembling Darren Shan, the fellow, did?

I believe Papeversomniferum answered it the best - it depends on what universe you're reading, or if you're talking about real life vampirism. In most of the fictional universes, they cannot procreate, in ours they can.

Whether or not you like my answer, vampires are not real. So, if they're not real, they can't have babies.
