When I was in Turkey, I took about £50 in Turkish Lira from the UK to make sure I could get to he hotel and cover the first night's stay (this is habit from all my travels). Once in Turkey, I just used by visa cash card to withdraw money from the ATM's. Turkish merchants will also accept euros, us dllars and punds sterling if you have these currencies in cash - it'll save you on commission and they gave reasonable exchange rates..

Iwent to turkey this year for the 2nd year running & both times The Turks prefer English Money, Euros or dollars. we also got a good exchange rate at the Bizarre

Change some in the uk so you have money when you get there. the rest of your money take in travellers cheques its safer and you will get a better rate of exchange over there.

no dont change your money in the uk ,change it in turkey ,you will get more for ir there .

change small amounts in the UK change the rest locally better rates

change the pounds in turkey (i livehere)the rate at the mo i 2.88 lira to the pound

well u should change your money. i went to instambul and i paid in $ but they were stealing me all the time. trast me greece is more beautifull that turky . i went there after turky and i had great fun . oh and be carefull if you want to buy things and always check is the change is normal. a taxi driver gave us a photocopy of money and left. HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

from pounds to new turkish lira change in the uk
and from lira back to pounds change in turkey
ull pay way more tax otherwise

you can do it in either place but you may want to check and see which place has the best exchange rate. it varies from one bank to another so beware and don't say i never warned you.
