Right after the elections in November. Bush can't sustain the military at this level with two wars going on at the same time. You also know Bush hasn't even made it a point for any diplomacy with the U.N.. Mistakes all over for Bush's Administration, and he is gone pretty soon.

NO
and so far the only one talking about bring the draft back are democrats
Democrats are trying to use the issue of the draft to their advantage in an election year. After the Pentagon’s "stop-loss" order, Sen. John Kerry declared, "They have effectively used a stop-loss policy as a backdoor draft." Kerry is right--but his answer is to increase the size of the regular Army by tens of thousands of troops.

Other Democrats agree. Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I.) used the opportunity of the call-up of the Individual Ready Reserves declare, "This is another indication of the urgent need to increase the size of the Army. The administration's assessment of the number of troops needed to occupy Iraq, fight the war on terror and maintain the nation's military commitment around the world has been woefully inadequate."

Much of the speculation about a new draft has been spurred on by legislation pending in Congress--sponsored by Democrats Rep. Charles Rangel and Sen. Ernest Hollings--that would require military or some other national service for 18 to 26 year olds. Rangel claims that his initial goal in backing legislation to bring back the draft was to stir opposition to the war in Iraq--because wealthy politicians would be less eager to go to war if their own kids were in the ranks

The volunteer military that keeps getting called back for more tours is the actual draft for now. The next president will have to start up an involuntary draft, AND raise taxes to pay for all of Bush's wars and corporate give-aways.

It is possible that Bush may bring back the draft. Bush and Cheney never saw action and so never had bullets fly by them, so it is easy for them to send our young men and women to fight and die and bleed for the oil.

If there is a draft, go and fight, and you will be a better person than Bush or Cheney, having the guts that they did not have themselves.

Super Question!

I don't know if he'll bring back the draft or not, but just in case, I would be preparing my conscientious objector papers if I were you!! Nothing seems beyond the pale for Bush and his crew of war-crazed cronies. Better be safe than sorry. If Bush had enough soldiers, we would be in Syria, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, Bolivia, Cuba, Pakistan, and possibly France!

As a good Boy Scout once said, Be Prepared!!

Even if he doesn't, there are lots of people fighting and dieing for a war they don't believe in. I don't think we should be there protecting their borders I think we should be here protecting ours but we are there and we are doing some good. We are feeding their people, giving them clothes, water. I don't think we should be there, but I would go back in heartbeat because it's what you do when you love and want to protect your home and your family. If I die so my children can grow up to live maybe a better life and 09/11 never happens again, then I've done my job.

And I'm a liberal by the way. Maybe a few of you have to insult liberal conservatives should step up to the plate too instead of talking a lot a S**T!!!

No he will not bring back the draft as long as there are men and women who believe in this country and volunteer to serve in our armed forces. If you are so worried about a draft you should support the people who are serving this country and defending your freedoms every day. It is a very special individual who sacrifices so much for others and you clearly are not that type of person. There still are plenty of the right type of people to stand for us all in our time of need. God bless the men and women of our armed forces.

Even if Bush attempts to bring back the draft and make you go to fight in a war you do not believe in.You will not have to. Go to the ACLU. A draft in which you are forced to serve in the military violates your civil rights. The government can not force you to serve in the military, even if they do attempt to bring back the draft. It would never work.People would never stand for it.This isnt the 60s or the 70s.
