3.)Two students are asked to find the height of a particular building using a barometer. Instead of using the barometer as an altitude-measuring device , they take it to the roof of the bulding and drop it off, timing its fall. One student reports a fall time of 2.0 sec., and the other, 2.3 sec.. How much difference does the 0.3 sec make for the estimates of the building's height.

The difference is 6.321meter.

With 2 seconds timing the height of the building is 19.6 mt(S=0x2+(1/2) x9.8 x 2x2)

With 2.3 seconds timing the height of the building is 25.921 mt(S=0x2.3+(1/2) x9.8 x 2.3x2.3)

The acceleration of gravity is 32 feet per second squared, so after 2 seconds the barometer is falling at 64 feet per second. Then use the formula X=VT+1/2AT^2 where V=64, T=0.3, A=32. So X=20.64 feet.
