Somewhere after the movie came out i heard that a sweedish company wanted to celebrate the 90th anniversary by rebuilding the actual ship. And that on the 90th it would set sail.

Strangely i never heard anything after that about it.

DOes anyone know if this was ever trully in the plans? are they still going to build it? its half way to the 100th anniversary so maybe they'll do it for then.

I just found something on it. all though part of the article makes no sense.

The article starts off by saying that some wealthy business men plan to build it and have it by 2003 (well too late on that part) lol..

but that there was rumor that a mummy on the ship sunk it instead of a iceberg.... ok...... now i've heard it all.... and i thought Clive Cussler's "Raise the Titanic" was weird.

i think when a ship is sunk they never use the same name for a ship again. plus that would be a small cruise ship by today's standards

Yeah know I did hear somewhere that they were building a new Titanic. I guess we'll have to do some research on-line and see if we can find anything out.

I never heard about that...it would be strange. Their passengers would have to be very brave, and though our technology is much more advanced now.
