People in the military are constantly exposed to daylight. They are expected to perform their tasks 24 hours a day and sleeping in a coffin (or other dark place) would be problematic at best. It would make life, as it were, very difficult for vampires.
I would imagine that vampires, if they existed, would also have a rough time with the authority regime in the military.

The real legend about vampires is that they can work in both daylight and at night. So if you believe in vampires then it is possible for them to be in any branch of the military or what ever or where ever they choose to work at........................
