If you check the sports list it has no catogory for cheerleading...yet it has curling a stupid sport which you push a rock across the floor and sweep in front of it so it goes slower/faster. I think th world has gone crazy.

Sport as a noun: anything that amuses;athletic diversion.

OK. so here we have it as written in websters dictionary. WHY do we keep getting chastized for this SPORT?

Yes we do amuse! We keep the audience in focus and hyped up for the games that we cheer for.

And as for athletic....HELLO? We rival any football, basketball, volleyball, whatever ball in jumps. We have the strength and dexterity of wrestlers and we have the stamina of swimmers.

NEED I SAY MORE?

well it depends if you make school cheerleadin a sport than you might not be able to go to out of state competitions go to only like 3 comp. a season and so on and so fourth you cqan look at it as a sport but in the long shot you definately don't want it to be so when your friend says it is not a sport just tell her "yeah were not a sport, were so much morer!" cause you are how many times does the volleyball team go out of state?! you have avery reason to be nervous though a new stunt can be very scary, every one gets scared. And you don't see girls flipping upside down or going 100 feet in the air in tennis, socer, or volleyball!! Good luck with the stunt! toodles

Yes, it's a sport. Anything that improves your body and involves physical exercise, coordination, diet and nutrition, and practice is a sport. That's why I don't think NASCAR racing is a true sport. Even Golf and Bowling barely pass. I have even see billards, dart throwing and POKER on ESPN sports network.

Don't worry about what the other girls think. The ones who are your true friends will remain so and the others are just ignorant or jealous.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

Yea, its a sport. almost anything is considered to be a sport. People don't consider dance to be a sport but I believe it is. I want to see the people who claim cheerleading isn't a sport do those stunts and not be nervous. The time and effort it takes is just as much as any other 'sport'.

It does combine balance, timing and strength which are all the elements of a sport, so ya I think its a sport. Like you said its more of a sport than some others like curling.
