Is there always one person who loves more, who is more insecure, more invested in it? Or is a truly balanced/equal relationship possible?

Excellent question. I agree that this is the case many times. In my observations and personal experiences it's true about 80% of the time. Sometimes both are equally invested but it's not the norm in my opinion. Also, I think that some people who are not invested SHOULD BE but take their mate/lover for granted. Often when the one taken for granted leaves--the selfish less invested one suddenly realizes that they were LUCKY to have had him/her and that they have made a tragic mistake by not being equally or more invested in the relationship. So sometimes the inequity in emotional investment is due to simple ignorance on one party's end. Because women are socialized to value relationships and romantic ones in particular, most times the ignorant party that takes the other for granted is often male b/c unfortunately they are (in general) socialized to place little value on romantic relationships and to place more value on sexual conquests and earning ability.

i think so... because when 2 people break up for whatever reasons one person is still more attatched then the other whether or not they admit it. Or if one of the partners cheats or anything, but yea, its imbalanced with a lot of relationships.

I believe a relationship should be 100% on both persons.this way if one is sick or has other problems, you still have 100% in the relation.
