I see no problem in being respectful in my belief that homosexuality is a chemical disorder, but, it is also emotionally linked to rebellion against the popular mainstream.....similar to goth, but homosexuality has been going on for centuries especially with the sexual revolution......no wonder moral society is sliding down in a deep hole (no gay insult n that comment)

Most people I know have no problem with the Gay marriage in it's self , it is more the gay adoption.Kids are mean , face it. Kids will tease and it is hard enough growing up as it is with out the stigma. Is it fair?Who cares, it should not be the kids fight. Maybe if this ( the marriage) had been a generation ago and more socially accepted , but as it is why should little kids fight the battle for the homosexuals.Let people get use to the idea of gay marriage first.

The uproar on gay marriages is a smoke screen to hide the assault on the line between church and state. "Marriage" is a religious sacrament.Under certain church laws, marriage is between a man and woman. A "civil union" is a governmentally sanctioned agreement to create "person" or "family relationship" for the purpose of owning property, inheritance, income taxes, child custody etc. Under the constitution, all persons are equal, but we do not give same sex couples the same property and financial rights as we do a traditional relationship.

If those two ideas could be separated (and no onde side would insist on imposing its views on the other) , there would presumably be no problem. A gay couple could have the same legal rights as a straight couple without asking for the blessing of a church that did not agree with homosexuality. Therefore, we disenfranchise gay couples as we once disenfranchised women, Native Americans and blacks.

Church laws do not govern the United States, and fundamentalists don't like that. They don't believe religious (whether moral or immoral) views expressed in law are in conflict with the intent of the Constitution. It doesn't seem to bother them to abridge the rights of one person in favor of the views of another.

The President agrees with them. Now the issue is a convenient diversion from the Iraq, our economy and our failing role as world leader in human rights.

Marriage is Biblical concept. Marriage is the joining of two different sexes in a contract under the eyes of God. There is no problem as far as I can tell with a civil union. Only that the Gays want the wording to be Marriage. The same sex union is against the word of God as stated in the Bible. The whole thing as I see it is over a word. Because that word defines a concept.

Narrow minded people just refuse to grasp the concept that gay relationships can last and actually have proved it. Most gay relationship stay together longer than hetero ones for alot of reasons. Respect, illnesses, just to name a few. All relationships go throught all types of issues and some last and then some don't. Thats the way of the world.

it is nor moral, it is against the commands of God for the first place.

But yes it is obvious that regular marriages are having trouble this is just additional proof of the moral decline within our nation. But one moral decline does not mean one should merely throw all moral values out the window.
