I have an old model fiat car. the choke of my car does not go back once i pull it i.e. it remains extended and so the petrol also leaks. Please tell me what holds the choke back or prevents it from remaining extended when it is pulled. I don't know how to explain this problem further as i know little about this car. please give details.

the choke is a restricting device on the carburetor that Makes the fuel mixture richer when it is applied. if it is sticking or moves too easily it can't work properly. i figure your choke is manual, if it is you have a cable that controles it and there are attaching points along the cable to hold the housing in place. make sure the cable is adjusted properly and the cable connection points are also secure.
now if the carb leaks that could be an indicator that it needs rebuilding. get a kit and rebuild the carb and a number of your problems will be handled
