I dont think there is such a profession, however animal control officers are kind of detectives. They have to solve animal abuse cases almost every day. Watch animal cops on the animal planet channel and see what they do.

I actually did see an ad in the paper for a pet detective. They were advertising to find lost pets... I wonder how successful they are? I certainly don't think it's a very common profession ; )

There really should be. There are lot of
valuable dogs out there. And, you have
the nuts who steal them & then sell them
for the money. That's so twisted!!!
Hubby just added his two cents worth,
he said, "They have blood hounds, ain't
