I have a lamp post outside my house and wondered if it was possible to request the council (at a cost) to relocate it.

Yes.. it has been done before.. move it to where I do not know. in front of someone else's house.. maybe theyk would not want? And yes, it may cost you(personally) $900 or $1,000 to do so if they agreed

yes it is possible to request it back having them doing anything about the request is all together a different matter
