It just means you have spent more time here answering questions hopefully helping people in the process. It doesn't mean you are any "better" than anyone else just because you are level 4.
Sincerity is key (with a little cleverness and humor, tactfully!). The desire to help and do good and ask questions that will actually deserve answering by not being obscene or rhetorical in nature. Also, using the spell checker and making sense is dire to doing well.

To give you that feeling of accomplishment when you know you are the next level up.
However, if you don't like the way it works here- the tone of your question leads me to think that you are being very negative- then no one is forcing you to use this site, so you could just not bother with it.
