I have some wood stain and other chemicals that I need to get rid of. Am I supposed to take them to a waste management facility or something? Isn't it illegal to not do something with them?

Congratulations on being a good citizen. Call your city services and find out where their hazardous chemical collection point is.

Look up the official government website for your city or county. They will very likely have info on this. Some bigger municipalities have a "311" service to answer questions like this. If no info is available online or by calling 311, you can get info by calling City Hall. You're correct that in everyplace I am aware of, it is illegal to simply pour these things out. They are toxics and need to be disposed of properly.

An excellent question, Joshy!

The above 3 answers are excellent. To reiterate, contact your local government agency and they will be able to tell you the hows, whens, and wheres of toxic waste disposal. Don't throw it away and DON'T flush it down the drain!

And out of curiousity, why do you want to flip me off?
