I think the insurance industry should be reformed to make it possible for anyone who wants health insurance to be able to afford it. Perhaps the federal government should work with employers and insurance to create an affordable group plan that does not require people to work for a specfic employer to obtain the benefit. However, we do not need a government mandated free plan. If you look at countries with national health, the costs are outrageous, and amount to large tax bases in order to support. You are not going to find many Americans willing to pay 50% of their income in taxes in order to support such a plan, and this is the minimum that would be required. In short, while we do need a better way of doing things, we do not need another entitlement program.

Most states in the US, if not all of them have a medicaid program for the poor and under privleged. The only problem is those of us who are working minimum wage jobs aren't able to get those after paying our tax money to make this program unless they are pregnant or disabled.
Although it seems kinda funny how anyone who came swimming across the Rio Grande can get it.
That's the government of our wonderful country.

No...go to any nation on the face of the earth that has it, esp Canada. It doesn't work. People come to the USA from Canada by the busloads to get health care here not available to them there. People die awaiting simple surgeries because with Universal Health care the government determines what doctor you see and when you get to see them. You do not have to be able to afford health care in this country to get it. All you have to do is show up in any ER in this country they will treat you regardless of your ability to pay. It is THE LAW you idiot.... and the taxpayer is the one usually footing the bill. The fact that there are people in this country who can't get medical care is a f--king myth usually spread by the socialist and communist Democrats.

I think the people are working and barley affording anything should have the right to health care. The rich are able to afford anything they need therefore they should not be eligible to get universal health care.
