Tell me why you choose your clothing style.....?

Question

I have a report to do on nonverbal communication, so I've decided to do clothing. I want to know if you choose a specific clothing style, and why you choose it. Do you only wear certain colors, certain brands, etc. Do you have a style you stick to, such as preppy, punk, etc. (not trying to label people, just need to know) How do you think people view you based on the clothing you choose? Any answers will be appriciated. Thanks!

I wear clothes to accentuate my best features.I am 5ft 10 and slim,therefore I have long legs.I will wear short skirts to show off my legs,or tailored black trousers.I love black,I have always liked the gothic image.Black is a favourite of mine.It,to me is sexy and attractive looking.Although I have a long term partner and just turned 34,I don't see why I have to dress like a grandma.I wear low cut tops to show off my cleavage,it makes me feel attractive for my partner.I love fake fur jackets as they ooze sexiness.

I have a relatively plain clothing style, but it suits me and I like it. I'm usually wearing jeans and a long-fitting t-shirt (hoping I will seem a bit taller lol...and I like the look of them too). Whatever looks nice and fits me well I guess.

I don't wear certain brands. I have enough trouble finding jeans that fit anyway, considering I have a very small waist and the smallest sizes are usually the first to go. Whatever fits me and looks nice I will buy.

I try to keep an open mind when it comes to colors. I used to wear mostly blacks, blues, and darker reds and greens, etc. Now I wear all colors: yellow, light pink, baby blue, light green. I get bored with the same colors lol. It's nice to have variety.

At first glance you might think I look preppy, but really, my clothing style is just comfortable and casual. Nothing too fancy, although once and a while you'll catch me in a dressy shirt.

I can't remember the last time I wore heels to school. They're just not me! =) I wear sneakers (white and pink Nikes right now) because they're a lot more comfortable and I have to walk to and from school 4 times a day. I couldn't imagine doing that in heels!

Aside from comfy and casual, sometimes I mix and match my tank tops and sweaters so I look kind of sporty. And although I'm not a sports fan, the look seems to work for me. Especially with the Nike sneakers.

I have three styles of clothing. For the office I wear nice slacks and blouses, solid colored T-shirts (no slogans) and sweaters or blazers. Occasionally I wear a dress, always long because I look better in long dresses.

At home (not going out), I wear everything that's on its last legs. Shorts, old T-shirts, stained sweatshirts, etc. Comfortable and cheap.

Writers conferences are a different situation. This is when I trot out the really nice clothes, the silk blouse, etc. I have to impress and I have a few clothes designed exactly for that.

I dont really specialize in one "field" of clothing, I have many so I would say that my style is a mix of prep, surf, sometimes punk, bohemien, and just girly. (i call it bohemian chic) About 60% of my wardrobe is Hollister and Abercrombie, and the other 40% is just random shirts I found at random stores. (H&M, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Paul Frank) I wear any color as long as the style of the clothing is nice. My favorite colors to wear are darkish rich colors, or really bright colors. Im not too fond of pastels, they wash me out and make me seem pale. People think my clothing style and personality are eccentric. I change styles everyday of the week, and never wear the same thing twice in a month. I guess that gives people the impression that I'm "well-off". Hope this helps you on your report!

I choose clothes which are casual in appearance, comfortable to wear (natural fibers, loose cut, etc) and look good against my natural coloring.
I buy a lot of blue cause I have blue eyes and blond hair. I stay away from some colors which don't flatter me (navy blue, gray, yellow)

I buy what I like, not because it's the "in" thing, I go straight for the bargains, I wear moslty the preppy style because I like cute clothes I will wear any color, good luck on your survey!

I usually wear what is comfy and what i feel like wearing. I am not really worry about what other people might think. But my boyfriend (he works in sales) he will worry about what he wears because he wants to make a go impression. no brand names really but he does makes sure that everything matches (ex. belt and shoes or tie) and every morning without a hitch he will ask me "how do i look". he wants to portray a approachable but serious sales person who is interested in what the buyer needs.

i wear different styles for different occasions, i follow the power clothing colors and style for business meetings etc. i wear non -working attire to fit my mood... its like changing wigs sometimes you feel mysterious so you don black short cut... sometimes you feel like an exciting red head. so i guess everything i wear depends on the occasion... my mood. and.people around me. i tend to llike black and white look,,, so i have to make myself venture into selecting brighter clothes when not at work, my least favorite color is red.

I no longer worry about what's fashionable, so I can buy whatever I please as long as it fits nicely, is comfortable, and is on sale.

People who know me don't judge me by my clothes, and those who judge me by my clothes I don't want to know.
