Stephanie... you are confused. But I figured that out long ago. Your posts always follow the same pattern.
The truth is that Palestine is no more real than Never-Never Land. The first time the name was used was in 70 A.D. when the Romans committed genocide against the Jews, smashed the Temple and declared the land of Israel would be no more. From then on, the Romans promised, it would be known as Palestine. The name was derived from the Philistines, a Goliathian people conquered by the Jews centuries earlier. It was a way for the Romans to add insult to injury. They also tried to change the name of Jerusalem to Aelia Capitolina, but that had even less staying power.
Palestine has never existed -- before or since -- as an autonomous entity. It was ruled alternately by Rome, by Islamic and Christian crusaders, by the Ottoman Empire and, briefly, by the British after World War I. The British agreed to restore at least part of the land to the Jewish people as their homeland.
There is no language known as Palestinian. There is no distinct Palestinian culture. There has never been a land known as Palestine governed by Palestinians. Palestinians are Arabs, indistinguishable from Jordanians (another recent invention), Syrians, Lebanese, Iraqis, etc. Keep in mind that the Arabs control 99.9 percent of the Middle East lands. Israel represents one-tenth of 1 percent of the landmass.
But that's too much for the Arabs. They want it all. And that is ultimately what the fighting in Israel is about today. Greed. Pride. Envy. Covetousness. No matter how many land concessions the Israelis make, it will never be enough.
What about Islam's holy sites? There are none in Jerusalem.
I wouldn't be pointing to others and declaring stupidity if I were you. Ever hear the phrase that everytime you point a finger at someone else there are three more pointing back at you?

All of the people that don't think it's a big deal about Iran or some of these other "third world countries" having nuclear capabilities, didn't grow up or live through the cold war. I did grow up during that period in the 70's and 80's, and as a lot of you could agree, it was a time of fear and uncertainty. But if they get a hold of them and they start using them, then everyone is going to start using them and that will pretty much be the end of it.

I agree Iran should not have a nuclear weapon, but not because the US says so. After all who is only country in the history of mankind to use a nuclear weapon to kill millions of innocent civilians?

Letting Iran have nukes would level the playing field and we can not have that. Then they can have a say in policy and we may have to deal with them as humans. Why are people in this country so afraid of dialogue? We tend to have this all or nothing policy towards the rest of the world, allies or enemies, black or white, it is simple minded foolishness. Look at Bush, we are in a position of great power, why doesn't he use it to negotiate rather than to dictate? People should be able to fight back against oppressors, and that is precisely what we are.

Your focus appears to be that Iran intends on building nuclear weapons. The US anticipates this is one of the products of Iran's desires to build them. Iran intends on utilizing nuclear energy for electricity. Hmm, this is tough call.
I would hope that Iran would eventually agree to having uranium enriched (5%) in Russia and having it delivered to them for use to create electricity.
Please don't equate the US to having the 'big' bombs to wiping out millions of people. You have it ALL wrong with this comment. Yes, we can all assume that the terrorists would love to have one because their attacks are on civilian targets involved in day-to-day life. The US is focused on militants, guerrilas and terrorists only with minimal civilian casualties. God help us if North Korea ever tries to use one though because the US and world retaliation would be tremendous.
Iran needs to agree with the world community on allowing the IAEA to have total control on the uranium enrichment records process to ensure that uranium is never enriched to bomb capable status (95%).
Anyways, these are tense times we live in today and hopefully things will work out peacefully.
Oh, one last comment on Iraq, dropping a nuke on that country we'd be playing a terrorist role. The problem lies not with the Iraqy people but the regilious extremists. These people thrive on hate-of-the-west and forbid their communities with moving forward into the 21st century.

Do you not understand that Iran is not asking to make nuclear weapons, but energy from nuclear sources? Which is the right of all countries. Of course, under the supervision of the UN responsible Committee, who would alert the UN if there is ever an intention to make weapons.
By the way, the only country that has ever used nuclear weapons is the US, so if there is a country I do not trust owning them, this is the US. And the war was over, Japan had already surrendered, there was no reason at all to drop them then. Just to show power.

You take things out of context and twist them to fit what you want.
1.Iran saying it wants to destroy Israel.
Israel illegally occupies Palestinian land, it stole it, it was the Palestinians,Israel does not belong there. The zionists of Israels want all arabs dead, All of them.Do you understand? They will not be happy until the entire middle east is Israel. They are evil terrorists that we support.Reason one for middle easter countries too distrust us.
2.Why do you say we are more humane and civilized? We dropped two atomic bombs, the what is it called silver rain in
Vietnam, dipping weapon heads in nuclear waste or whatever it is called, leaving thousands upon thousands of iraqi children born
disfigured from the first gulf war. Is that humane? Is that civilized?
3.You dont even make an attempt to understand why these countries in the middle east do not like america.
Bush is an idiot, who can do nothing right. He didnt stop the first attack and he wouldnt stop a second. He needed that attack to happen so he could get his war, if you are too stupid to connect the dots and see the chain of events that brought us up to today, then you are too stupid to be an american citizen.

Its called having common sense and the liberals are always lacking in that area. They have always been the smoke the dope hug a tree, love and defend your enemy type of people. They still have the 1960s rebellion against the governments defense and military..,No matter what threats the enemy make against us or what kind of torture and enemy has put our people through.
In the liberals eyes America is always the bad guy and we are the evil doers and the enemies need understanding and love and they wont hurt us anymore. They are still littles girls caught up in the childhood days of sitting at home with their make believe friend and have tea and cupcakes with them. They need to wake up to the fact these people want to kill us and others..,no psycho babble BS is going to cure these people. They hate and want to kill..,bottom line.

I understand that the cat's out of the bag on nukes. We have them. NATO has them. Russia, China, Pakistan. It's hard to make a case why Iran can't develop them when they're surrounded by nations who do.
