According to Snopes.com, it's a hoax.
They show the fake e-mail which has been doing the rounds (some people are just such scum) and them say the following:
"This item about the drunk-driving death of actor Ben Savage, best known for his portrayal of adolescent Cory Matthews in the TV series Boy Meets World (and younger brother of Fred Savage, star of the nostalgic TV series The Wonder Years) appears to be yet another Internet-spread celebrity death hoax.
Although this blurb claims Ben Savage died on 16 September 2006, there has been no public announcement or media mention of his having passed away or been involved in an accident. "

Saturday, September 16th Ben Savage passed away at Memorial Hospital in Canton, Ohio at 10:47 pm. Savage was in a fatal accident sending him into a coma which he did not awake.
Ben best known as Corey Matthews from the comedy sit com Boy Meets World was intoxicated during the accident which ultimately prevented his recovery. Rest In Peace Ben Savage, "Corey Matthews" You will be greatly missed.

It is absolutely not true - however, being in college, I also know that if you spelled source wrong as the last person did, then you would also get an "f". Just to let you know. But again to answer the question, Ben Savage is very much alive.

Ok, so btw, he is definitely NOT dead...
And someone said that they looked on Wikipedia and it said he was. Well, did you ever notice that tiny little link at the bottom of the entry that says "edit". Yeah, that's because, since Wikipedia is free, it let's people put their OWN entries in. So, just thought you should know that that's not the most reliable source to get your information from.....

Its gunna be ok its definetly NOT true he is alive and well according to his manager and if it happened on September 16th we would've had more info by now and its been proven false by every realibible source online Its just a stupid bulliten going around Myspace

My friends have been circulating that on myspace, and I just couldn't believe it, so I had to do a little research on my own before I could repost that bulletin and I learned that it was all a rumor. The people who started it suck and the people who kept the rumor going suck even more. I feel so relieved. =)

i looked at all the links up here, and no... thank GOD it isnt true!!! that woulda been depressing, i watch Boy Meets World everyday, and that woulda torn me apart. so just so y'all know, it isnt true, and that made me and my friends SOOO relieved... the only thing is that this means ppl are retarded, whoever started tht rumor is such a jerk!!!! y would u say crap lyk tht??
